Greenpoint Oral History and Community Scanning Project at Bushwick Inlet Park: Pests in Greenpoint

Join the Greenpoint Oral History and Community Scanning Project at the Bushwick Inlet Park building, 86 Kent Avenue, for a talk with Greening Greenpoint’s Bill Schmidt where he’ll discuss the reign and destruction of the Asian Longhorn Beetle in Greenpoint and the new scourge of our trees, the Emerald Ash Borer

Following the talk we will hold a community scanning event to document the environmental history of Greenpoint.  What will we scan? Documents, photographs, ephemera, mementos - anything we can digitize - What do you have in your personal collection that tells of the story of Greenpoint’s environment?

By contributing materials you are choosing how Greenpoint’s environmental history will represented and remembered.

This will be one of six events held by Brooklyn Public Library throughout the next year to collect the memories of Greenpoint residents to ensure Greenpoint’s environmental history is remembered
