Thank You for Four Years of Greening Greenpoint!

Greening Greenpoint will wrap up on June 30th, 2019, and would like to thank the Greenpoint community groups and members who made the project possible! Tree planting in Greenpoint will be continued by NYC Parks, requests can be made here or by calling 311.

Since 2015, Greening Greenpoint, with the help of the Greenpoint community, has:

  • Engaged nearly 3,000 volunteers in stewarding trees

  • Stewarded over 2,000 trees

  • Planted over 21,000 bulbs and perennials

  • Given away 565 small trees to be planted on private property

  • Given away 1,700 perennials

  • Planted 635 new trees in Greenpoint

  • Installed 575 tree guards

  • Expanded over 1,000 tree beds

  • Created over 34,000 square feet of permeable surface


BRINGING new trees and more green to Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

 

Greening Greenpoint is a four-year project funded by the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund that will plant hundreds of new trees and elevate the level of care for existing trees in the neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
